Montague Community Cable mourns the passing of our colleague Tim Lindop who died suddenly on Saturday, August 23. The board and staff recognize Lindop for the energy and creativity he put into his work at MCTV. Many years ago, Lindop was the Executive Director of MCTV, and he was glad to return to Montague when MCTV found itself in need of a technical director. Over the past year, Lindop worked hard to mentor community producers while faithfully recording many government meetings and community events--and producing high quality short pieces about town departments and local organizations. Lindop brought his passion for storytelling to Montague, encouraging citizens of all ages to learn to use the power of visual media. He also worked recently as a video producer for Catholic Communications at the Diocese in Springfield, MA. Over the course of his 30-year career, Lindop was a cameraman for well-respected news organizations and served in a variety of leadership and technical roles at cable access television stations. Lindop is survived by his two children, Angela and Julian Lindop and their mother, Sonia Lindop. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 30 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace in Turners Falls.
