Runway Model Workshop, Homelands Festival
Week of August 2nd - 9th
The 6th annual Pocumtuck Homelands Festival took place August 3rd and 4th at Unity Park in Turners Falls. The festival celebrated Native American art, music and culture. Also featured was a traditional mishoon (canoe) building demonstration. Instead of metal tools, fire is used to hollow out Mishoons. The video will be available soon at montaguetv.org, so you can see the amazing process yourself.
Recently uploaded to montaguetv.org we have the Cable Advisory Committee meeting which took place on August 5th. Also the Select Board meeting which took place on the 5th as well. Richie Richardson owner of FAB Fashion brought in modeling coach and Brooklyn Fashion Week co-founder Jerry Jordan Brown to give a runway model workshop at his store right in downtown Turners Falls. His workshop not only included how to walk the runway, but how to navigate the modeling industry. Check out his valuable insights at montaguetv.org.
